Fiero automatic to manual swap

12/24/ - REBUILDING PEDAL ASSEMBLY: From my parts Fiero I will be using the 5-Speed getrag transmission and the clutch / pedal assembly that came with it, to help with my automatic to manual conversion. I pulled a spare pedal assembly from the junkyard as well to ensure that I had all the necessary hardware / spare parts.  · For reference the charge about $ for a turn key swap, "almost" worth it for the convenience alone but crazy stupid money to put into a daily driver, or Fiero for that matter. quote. Ooop! The email you entered isn't valid. WooHoo! You subscribed successfully. Ok! You're unsubscribed. The engine swap adds about pounds to the total weight of the car, which should be right around 2, pounds empty. The transmission is the stock 5-speed Getrag Fiero unit, so who knows how long it will be before that goes away (V8 Archie offers a conversion kit that utilizes the 6-speed box out of the Pontiac G6 as an upgrade), but it should be fun while it lasts. This engine will bolt directly into your Fiero with the T or your manual transmission. Using the Fiero automatic is not recommended as the is not capable of supporting the additional horsepower and torque of the engine.

In my '87 SE, the auto to manual swap cost around $2k and took about a week. But I was working on it in my spare time, a few hours here and a few hours there. And I bought a lot of new parts (aluminum flywheel, Spec clutch, stainless steel clutch hydraulic line, new axles, rebuilt transmission, Rodney Dickman shifter cables, etc). Our Fiero V-8 Engine Conversion Kits allow you to install a small block Chevy engine into any thru Pontiac Fiero. They allow you to retain all stock options, including a/c. This kit is designed to be a bolt on installation with no frame cutting required. We have kits for all stick shift and automatic Fieros. Automatic-to-Manual Transaxle Swap Has anyone ever attempted an auto to 5speed swap for their '85/86 V6? I know the 85 manual was a 4 speed and I'd even settle for that if I have to, but I've got to get rid of this auto!.
